I thought somebody (maybe Ed) mentioned the plan to move Goldilocks to Earth during the unionization scene. The whole idea of old man Ed becoming a union boss just to stick it to Dani and co. was surprisingly funny to me.

You may be right. We're getting to the point in the season where I'm having to rely on my notes from when I first watched (which tend to be extremely detailed, but still miss things here and there), rather than on my memory of every small development.

Yeah, they said "two months of shit bonuses instead of two years," or something to that effect.

Yeah, I think it was Ed who told them the plan for the asteroid. They'll still need to work all those extra shifts for less pay to capture the asteroid, but won't get the mining work.

Whatever you want. In store or via Bookshop are probably best?

I’m just commenting to echo the beautiful scene(s) from Coral Peña and Wrenn Schmidt. I was caught off guard by their depth and moved to tears.

Not that they haven’t been excellent throughout the series, it was all just *that* convincing.

I thought for sure when Irina said "work the problem" Aleida had some flash of, "wait, who's actually in your ear" so she wouldn't be as shocked to see Margo. But the big hug was nice, and the fact that despite Aleida's protestations (which she's been offering since at least season 2) Margo understands her better than anyone in the world is still fun to watch. I have some questions about that "prepared statement", though; I don't know if that is her choosing to make the heel turn or if she's just going along with what she's told like Irina said would happen.

Also, Norma Ed.

I don’t think she really believes the condemnations of NASA and the US Government that she gave out, but I do think it’s a partial heel turn because she does genuinely believe that she has never done anything wrong in this situation.

I agree Chase as I thought her comments would have been written for her.

Oh, I love it too. But as a huge lover of baseball whose father died not long before that movie came out, I was an absolute sucker for it.

The scene where Braugher's character smiles as he realizes from listening to the game that Quaid was telling him the truth is such a joy.

I saw it in the theaters with my parents and it became one of "our" movies. Incredibly moving.

I'm not sure I understand your expectations for Reacher. From the books, he is a very large, blond man, former military, incredibly smart, and wary of relationships. Alan Richson plays him perfectly - he has a vulnerability and sense of humor that we can't get enough of. We've watched season 1 at least a half-dozen times since it's debut and we're already rewatching the first three episodes of season 2. We like it almost better that S1 - it just hits differently with him working with people he knows and loves.

First, thanks for the terrific Andre Braugher tribute. Even when silent, the lasting image of him in the death of Steve Crosetti episode of Homicide remains with me to this day as a wonderful dayenu moment from a memorable episode.

Second, looking forward to your appearance and probable expulsion from the Poscast upcoming Holiday Draft episode. Have always thought your draft of the West Wing Christmas episodes a breathtaking move (and even though I know the show was not received as well, the Christmas episode of Studio 60 is one I return to year in and year out.)

Happy Holidays!

Your analogy of Andre Braugher as Shohei Ohtani resonated with me. I was an avid fan of Homicide and wish I could go back and revisit the series. Maybe someday. And Brooklyn Nine-Nine works as well as it does with Braugher as the anchor of Raymond Holt.

Wow, I feel like I'm watching a different show! Leigh is taking my husband and I right out of Fargo every time she's on screen. But it's fun to see Juno Temple get to stretch after so many seasons of her mostly wasted on Ted Lasso.

Okay but the Sarah Connor bit in Reacher was funny.

RIP Mr. Braugher. I knew him mostly from the movies--Glory and Frequency. But even in just those two roles--what a range! An incredible talent. Gone too soon.

I haven’t watched FAM this season yet because I finally got my wife and son into it, so they started from the beginning. I have been anticipating showing them the season 2 finale and we finally got there today. Holy cow, that still holds up. I was a wreck during every Gordo/Tracy scene.

I was a huge fan of the Reacher novels for a while, but eventually I felt like they became formulaic and Reacher turned into an indestructible superhero who was never wrong. Felt like season 1 of the TV show was cromulent but I agree that the character seems to come across as smarmy. Maybe it’ll be something to watch during a workout.

Dear Alan, I mostly agree with you about "Reacher," but I think you're being a little hard on Alan Ritchie, who's playing the part he's been given. And it might be hard for anyone to bring Lee Child's Reacher--part hobo, part Sherlock Holmes, part rock monster from "Galaxy Quest"--to the screen.

I can think of a lot of actors who could have done Robert B. Parker's "Spenser" much better than Robert Urich or Joe Mantegna or Mark Wahlberg. But with Reacher, I'm stumped.

The Andrew Child/Lee Child books - the first, The Sentinel, was terrible. Basically Jack Reacher fan fiction. No investigative skills or nuance, just Reacher walking around smashing people. I thought the next 2 (Better of Dead & No Plan B) were very good and right in line with the rest of the series, maybe Lee stepped back in? Unfortunately the most recent offering (The Secret) is awful and very similar to The Sentinel. Not feeling good about the series at this point.

Would love to watch Thief again. Have researched online periodically but doesn't appear that it's available on any Canadian streamers or on DVD :-(

I think you might have shared this in the comments before, but is there a "preferred" place to buy Welcome to the O.C.? I'm trying to avoid Amazon as much as possible.

Apologies if you see this reply twice, but in a store, or through book shop are probably the best methods. Thank you!

Great, thanks! Was thinking bookshop.org.

I casually mentioned the book to my wife the other night and she was quite interested. So an easy Christmas gift haha.
