Hey, Alan. I don't know how editable your posts are, but it's Bill *Watterson*. Although thanks for getting me to crack up at the thought of a series of videos of Sam Waterston describing the contents of his favorite 'Calvin and Hobbes' strips.
When my college-age son and I were watching the "Shadows" finale on FX, I excitedly told him about the best TV series ending ever. Then I found out what the Hulu ending was and made him watch that without telling him and he's like "It's the ending you were telling me about!" That was fun.
re: most hilarious moments, the TV reporter (ep. 5) announcing Nandor’s name as "Nandor DiLaurentis" was the funniest moment not just of the series but of television this year (the callback, "Nandor Lee, a dentist" was a pale shadow thereof).
Even better if you're local enough to recognize how incredibly Staten Island that surname is.
My husband got me into Yellowstone, and the first few seasons were soapy fun (but it certainly had some issues). The last couple of seasons though have been a chore, and the finale was maddening. Sheridan deciding to make Jamie the fall guy and Beth the hero left a bad taste in my mouth. Both characters were morally bankrupt, I wasn’t necessarily rooting for Jamie, but Beth hating him the entire series and blaming him for her not being able to have kids was ridiculous. If there really is going to be another season with Beth and Rip leading the way, count me out. I’ll stick to Landman, a dang fun show.
They made a big deal about how Bad Monkey was filmed entirely in Florida, and being there contributed highly to the mood and even added a few plot points. A few days ago, it was announced that Season 2 will be shot in California.
A second season may work out fine but Man on the Inside feels very setting-specific. We haven't finished season 1 yet, I could be speaking out of line, but considering they'd have to recast 90% of it, I suspect Charles will have more wacky assisted living capers to detect.
This may be unfair, but Zosia Mamet is one of the performers that simply turns me off from any project they are in. I've just never seen her be good in anything. Though to be fair I also have not watched the show for which she's best known, so maybe I am missing out.
I don't mind her but I think her best role was in Girls. She was one of the brighter spots on Girls (along with Adam Driver) but that show was definitely not for everyone.
I edited this because I realized I was misremembering her from Mad Men, she was good in that. It was something else I saw her in that I was thinking of.

Sigh. Thank you. Certainly, robot insurance sounds like the kind of thing that Calvin might try to convince his parents to buy.

I have more reading to do in this post but I stopped everything to say I've been WAITING for you to write about Arcane. Yay!
Are you holding your thoughts about the Lower Decks series finale for a later time?
Personally, I thought it hit all the right beats and I wish the show had lasted longer.
I'm only a few episodes into the season. Too much else going on. I hadn't even realized the finale was this week.

Excited for you to finally see all the great Twelfth Doctor episodes.

Seriously?! Why?!

FYI looks like the link to the Laid review is actually linking again to the best episodes URL.
Sigh. Thank you. Too late to fix for the email, though.

I enjoyed her in The Flight Attendant.
I have mixed feelings about her as a dramatic actress, but I tend to find her very funny. And in Girls, she's all comedy, all the time.

Girls was all bright spots. A stone cold classic right to the end.
