I also love "Somebody Somewhere". "French toast for the table!"

When Joel said, "How could he not?" I lost it. I wish nothing but the best for those lovely people.

A) Julia is angrily yelling at us this week. Why? That was unnecessary.

B) I want to read your RS reviews but they’re ALL unreadably locked behind a paywall.

C) Somebody who is the Multiplicity clone of Alan Sepinwall should write a book about The DC/CW Berlantiverse, There are many stories there behind the scenes and on screen.

Alan, I was surprised not to see Pachinko on your best-of list! Any thoughts for why it didn’t make the cut?

It will come up in another list later this month. Trying to share the wealth.

Glad we all peer pressured you into watching Arcane! There's a reason why the social media is abuzz about it (and I only got into it right before the 2nd season started).

Now somebody needs to convince Alan to watch Black Sails

I've now decided, since Alexander Skarsgård cameo, that WWDITS exists in the same universe of True Blood. That's it. It's canon.

As for Superman & Lois, especially since it was the ending of the Arrowverse, and especially since he faces such an intense threat, I found it so weird they haven't brought Melissa Benoist to guest. It's as if Kara Danvers doesn't care that her cousin has died :D True to crossover-when-it's-convenient fashion!

It's been so long since I've watched that I can't even remember if S&L was supposed to be set in the same universe where Kara lives, or if this is a parallel world where Clark and Lois look exactly the way they do on the planet that was created at the end of Crisis.

Pretty sure it's the same one. She even asks in one of the crossovers how are the twins. Not that it's a proof. But they never said it WASN'T the same one. I'm assuming they wanted to keep the door open for crossovers just in case. But it would've been so interesting to see them talk especially since both shows ended with them sharing their real identity with the world. Alas.

S&L initially planned to be in the same universe, but then slowly decided to separate completely and go in a different direction.

That sounds like an utter undecisive mess.

I will never forgive Zaslav and crew for putting a cap on Somebody Somewhere at 3 seasons! I would watch Jeff Hiller and Bridget Everett hang out together on their couch indefinitely. But though I know you mentioned not being caught up, it feels a real shame that Interview with the Vampire not getting much buzz especially after the performances in Season 2. I am dreading when they prematurely cancel the show.

I think one continuing trend we might see is on these “best of” lists containing more and more miniseries/anthology shows. It seems to be the trend that Netflix and HBO are leaning into.

Like you said, the days of a long season for a critically acclaimed show (Abbott is the only exception) seem to be a distant memory.
